From Bronze to Legend
Every exercise has a rank.
Log your weight on an exercise and Nuvana compares it with the reference weights. You start where you are.
Every record moves you up.
When you beat your record, you move up a rank. Week after week your showcase fills with badges.
All the way to Legend.
Seven ranks, from Bronze to Legend. The weights are the same for everyone, so you can compare with your friends.
How the ranks work
The rank for an exercise comes from your record: the heaviest weight you have logged on it, at any number of reps. There are no estimates or 1RM formulas: if you reached 60 kg, that is your record.
The weights are the same for every user of the same sex, so a rank means the same kilos for you and your friends and you can compare directly. Any record is already Bronze.
- Bronze: any logged weight
- Silver, Gold and Platinum: from beginner to intermediate and advanced
- Diamond and Elite: very advanced level
- Legend: the full elite level, only for a few
An example with three exercises
- Bench press
- Gold 81 / 37.5 kg · Platinum 98 / 44.5 kg · Legend 143 / 70 kg
- Squat
- Gold 101 / 55 kg · Platinum 123.5 / 64.5 kg · Legend 180 / 90.5 kg
- Deadlift
- Gold 128 / 72 kg · Platinum 155 / 85.5 kg · Legend 216 / 115 kg
Weights in kg for men / women. Every exercise in the app has its seven ranks, and you see them all on your stats screen.
Where the weights come from
We start from public strength standards tables for bench press, squat, deadlift and overhead press, and adjusted them so the middle ranks are within reach while Legend stays hard. Other loaded exercises use an equivalence against those four.
They are a guide, not a scientific standard: your best comparison is still your own progress.
Where to see it in the app
On each exercise's stats screen you see your badge, the weight left for the next rank and the full ladder. There is also a showcase with all your ranks. Strength ranks are a premium feature in Nuvana.
Frequently asked questions
How much do you need to bench to be advanced?
In Nuvana, Platinum (advanced level) is 98 kg for a man and 44.5 kg for a woman, per the table reference.
Does the bar weight count?
The app does not add anything on its own: the weight you type is what counts. For barbell lifts, the logging screen tells you how to record it.
Do ranks change with my body weight?
No. The weights are fixed for everyone of the same sex, so any rank means the same for everyone.
